Dust suppression specialists<\/span> Global Road Technology<\/span><\/a> (GRT), welcomes the focus in the 2021 federal budget on supporting the mining and manufacturing sectors as the government seeks to propel the economy post COVID.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Training and education, and research and development in manufacturing and supporting industries have all been identified as priority areas and the mining sector will benefit with a focus on training programs twinned with a more streamlined approval process. This coupled with the $1.5 billion to be spent on the modern manufacturing strategy to develop flexible and adaptable supply chains for Australian industry, sees GRT well-positioned at this key area of the Australian economy.<\/span><\/p>\n

For GRT General Manager Daniel Grundy, the federal budget highlights that GRT has made a number of strategic choices that align well with the current national economic direction.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cGRT is a world-leader in the development of infrastructure and process solutions for the mining, civil and agricultural sectors \u2013 part of this is due to our decision to focus on local manufacturing and R&D,\u201d said Mr Grundy.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cLast year validated this approach as our focus on locally manufacturing GRT products allowed us to operate and actually grow both during and post lockdown. This also means that we are well-positioned to support the mining sector as investment in the sector grows 5.5 per cent this financial year alone, as we have the ability to scale accordingly.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of its efforts to boost the economic recovery the Australian Government will also reduce regulations that impose costs, making it easier for new mining projects to get up and running.<\/span><\/p>\n

This focus on mining allows GRT to continue to build its presence as one of the <\/span>leading providers of dust suppression<\/span><\/a> and <\/span>soil stabilisation techniques and products<\/span><\/a> within the Australian market.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Its products are designed specifically to manage and contain dust for the purpose of protecting workers on mining sites and nearby residents and landholders from the<\/span> disease that respirable dust can cause<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

According to Daniel Grundy, it is this combination of external factors twinned with the companies own investment in people, products and technology means that the business is well-placed for growth.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve made a significant investment in time and resources to develop our people, production capabilities and supply chains and right now it appears the macro conditions work to our advantage,\u201d Mr Grundy said.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cHowever, it is critical during this growth phase that the industry continues its commitment to reducing dust pollution and that\u2019s where we can assist via our product suite that protects the wellbeing of workers and communities. As a business we\u2019ve already mapped out new opportunities for education, training and product investment to build our offering to better service the sector, and on the whole welcome the support the federal government is providing to this area of the Australian economy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
