GRT\u2019s record-breaking equipment purchase signals start of revolutionary instant road building in India in time to support world\u2019s largest religious festival, the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage in 2016.<\/h3>\n

Global Road Technology India\u2019s operation today announced it had finalized the largest purchase of cold recycling equipment ever seen in the country.<\/p>\n

The equipment will be used to deliver on its $190 million program of new-generation road works in Lucknow Mohana, India and to help prepare the Madhya Pradesh city of Ujjain for the Kumbh Mela pilgrimage, the world\u2019s largest religious festival.<\/p>\n

The move, which will enable Global Road Technology (GRT) to effectively deliver its extensive infrastructure program in India, puts the Australian-based international \u2018instant road\u2019 builder at the forefront of cutting edge cold recycling technology and road stabilization techniques that are revolutionising road construction in India.<\/p>\n

GRT\u2019s record-breaking purchase from Wirtgen Germany, through the company\u2019s Indian subsidiary Wirtgen India, includes Wirtgen WR240 Road Stabilizers, Streaumaster automated spreaders, 20MT pad foot rollers, and 10MT pad foot rollers.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GRT Chief Financial Officer Herman Allison said the purchase confirmed GRT\u2019s commitment to assisting India to resolve its chronic infrastructure problems.<\/p>\n

Mr Allison said GRT\u2019s use of the equipment to deliver its road programs in India would be the first time the advanced technology and techniques were employed in India, marking a significant advance in infrastructure building in the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe equipment will enable us to deliver the scale and the scope of works GRT is contracted to undertake in India,\u201d Mr Allison said.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is not only the scale of the work that we are doing, it is also the quality of the work that we can deliver with GRT\u2019s investment in this equipment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis puts us squarely at the forefront of the new generation of road building that will significantly improve road infrastructure in India and the lives of millions of people.\u201d<\/p>\n

GRT is working on projects with the public and private sector in India valued at more than $190 million.<\/p>\n

Projects featuring GRT\u2019s proprietary polymer technology include construction of roads along the Lucknow Mohana expressway using Recycled Asphalt Pavement (RAP).<\/p>\n

GRT will also use its dust suppression technology in Madhya Pradesh to help the state prepare for the world\u2019s largest religious gathering, Kumbh Mela, being held from April 2016.<\/p>\n

Kumbh Mela\u00a0is a mass pilgrimage in which Hindus gather to bathe in a sacred river. GRT is commencing work in the 2016 host city of Ujjain on the banks of the holy Shipra River.<\/p>\n

As well as treating the roads leading from the highway to the festival site with product specifically designed by the GRT in-house engineering team, GRT will also be treating the festival\u2019s 3,000,000 m2 site with its environmentally friendly dust suppression product.<\/p>\n

More than 2 million people a day are expected to use the road and festival area with up to 30 million people expected to visit over the course of the 10-week festival.<\/p>\n

GRT specializes in polymer soil stabilization<\/a> for new generation road construction and dust control for all types of roads from major highways and freeways to haulage, industrial and rural roads, tarmacs, hardstand areas and water repellent pavements.<\/p>\n

GRT\u2019s proprietary polymer technology<\/a> and delivery using the specialized Wirtgen equipment means stronger and safer roads in India that can be delivered more quickly, more cost-effectively, in a more environmentally-friendly manner, and require less maintenance.<\/p>\n

GRT is able to produce stronger, longer lasting roads as its water-resistant solution combats specific challenges to the country\u2019s infrastructure, such as India\u2019s monsoons.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

GRT is able to deliver the scale of its major contracts as its instant infrastructure enables it to construct roads up to 75% faster than conventional methods.<\/p>\n

GRT\u2019s stabilization and cold recycling technology can be applied into clay, silt, sand and gravel, which means that shortages of suitable road base in India, required for conventional road construction, can also be overcome.<\/p>\n
