Australian infrastructure technology company Global Road Technology (GRT) is expanding its presence in Asia, commissioning a new factory to handle increased contracts on the sub-continent.<\/h3>\n

GRT has forecast more than $AU300 million in projects over the next three years, delivering its patented liquid polymers and Cold In Place Recycling technology to create \u201cinstant roads\u201d in some of the India\u2019s most populated regions.<\/p>\n

GRT India<\/a> Chief Executive Officer Ben James said the company has developed an 20,000 sqm factory in Pune, east of Mumbai, with an additional 1900 sqm of office space including state-of-the-art laboratories as it builds its local team to over 30 employees in the next month.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have made a significant investment in our local partnership to build rural roads, major district roads, expressways and highways in the region, including $AU7.6 million in heavy machinery and plant,\u201d Mr James said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur new, flagship factory and headquarters is a logical step as it allows us to expand our laboratory facilities, manufacture our industry-leading stabilisation polymers on site, and provide a base for expansion into India and other regions.\u201d<\/p>\n

GRT\u2019s technology allows governments, infrastructure and mining companies to deliver cost-effective and safer roads more quickly, compared with conventional building methods.<\/p>\n

The facility will allow batching of up to 250,000 litres of polymers a week, to be shipped across the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur technology allows us to construct a kilometre of expressway within 24 hours, cutting 75 per cent off standard construction time and significant savings in costs. We have the current resources in place to deliver over 200 kms of road a year in India and we are scaling up those capabilities to triple output over the next 3 years,\u201d Mr James said.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\u201cOur new facility provides us with a nodal hub to meet demand pan India and beyond.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have more than $75 million in projects in-hand in from the public sector and based on the feedback on our work delivered to date, including a $3 million dollar project near Keshkal, Chattisgarh, we believe our target of $300 million over the next 3 years is well within reach.\u201d<\/p>\n
